About dooDrum

I met a pretty woman i haven’t seen for along time and she asked me if i still would doo drumming. Yeah, i said and then she told me that she’s addicted to drums: “It sounds so cool, i wish i could play drums like you”. I thought wow, it’s time to start a website about drumming - just to attract many other nice women…

dooDrum Me

Okay, that’s not the whole truth. In fact i was planning a website about drumming since ages. A place to post all the funny ideas and visions i’ve collected over the years.

The first time i held some sticks was at the age of 11. Now, exactly 30 years later i’m still addicted to drums; i still find new and exciting things almost every time i sit down and play.

I’ve learned drumming by two different ways:

  1. Listening and playing along to music i liked
  2. Studying the methods of Dante Agostini, Siegfried Fink and others

So you can say that i developed some academical knowledge but still drum on the solid grounds of rock.

A good feel for music and groove is more important than artistic stuff (though that stuff looks nice).

I played in numerous semi-professional bands, did some studio and a good amount of live-work in a wide range of styles, from Rock to Jazz, Fusion, Top40 to Metal.

But since the split of my last band “7th Seal” i retired from stage and now concentrate on teaching. I also record my own music sometimes but with no commercial targets.

I hope that dooDrum.com will stay alive for a long time, being an useful and entertaining place for drummers and other bongos.

Don’t hesitate to write comments, send questions and suggestions, post your links and stuff and have a good time on dooDrum.com!
