Yea ,I used to listen to Purple”s Drummer back in the day,along with Mitchell,Alldrige,Bonzo,Baker,Krupa,Bellson(however you spell it),Rich,all the Greats,some how Id love to get noticed as my spelling isnt great coming from a Doctor”s son ,,Me M.H.C. Mark Hudson Clayton .but I am on U-Tube but I aint rich by any means. Ive beeen in bands that opened for Pantera ,Celtic Frost,Man-O-War,so-on-so-forth,,etc..but if any one looking for a drummer the only way to see a couple of my “Solo”s is to go to “Broadcast youre self”(U-Tube).Then simply type in “drumsaviour”and I have 3 Clips ,My # is 602-446-6963 any time Im free to travel any where and can Play any thing that has some real Kick-ass Material.. To understand Ian’s drumparts and to play it like the master it’s really important to take drum lessons. Ian Paice is a well educated drummer himself – he ever was. You should go looking for a good teacher, one who is able to teach you score reading, stick control and all that classical stuff. In fact, that’s what i always recommend, not only for Deep Purple fans…

“Child in time” is really a complicated song. When you can play Child in time you are also able to play most of existing rocksongs: There is the silent beginning with the tasteful drum fills, a halftime groove that’s getting louder and heavier together with Ian Gillan’s spectacular screaming, the heavy “bolero” part that leads into the up tempo guitar solo. When you play that guitar solo part, remember that it’s a shuffle/triplet-groove…

I recommend the live record “Made in Japan” which features some of the best versions that Purple ever recorded. The drum sound is also excellent. The album is a perfect source for inspiration for drummers.

im a 14 year old drummer and i really want to know how to play “child in time-deep purple” but i just couldent figure out some of the parts and i couldent find tabs anywhere…

Best rock and roll drummer ever , tecnic , speed and the most important , very clean . Thanks Ian becouse i lorn so much from you . I star lisen to your druming back in Cuba in 1970 , and even now , i keep lorning from you . And not just me , all the drummers in Cuba got something from you druming . Thank you so much !!!!!!!!
