Remember Louie Bellson!

One year ago the great Big Band Drummer Louie Bellson died aged 84.

Louie worked with Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, Count Basie and Benny Goodman, just to name a few. He was also a composer, arranger and the first drummer to play a double bass set up.

When you think of the greatest original Big Band Drummers you must think of Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa and Louie Bellson…

Remember Louie and check out his brilliant groove, his enormous musicality, wide range of  stylistics and – most important – the many smiles on his face while he is drumming:

About dooDrummer

Hi there, my name is Markus and i'm from Germany where i started drumming in 1978. After learning to play all Beatles songs backwards, i was instructed after the methods of Siegfried Fink and Dante Agostini. Over the years i played in numerous bands almost every style you can imagine. Since over a decade i also give private drum lessons. I'm currently writing/recording an instrumental album called "General Wasting".
